Coughing up green bits... phlegm?

I've been sick for about 6 weeks. I thought I had bronchitis and went to the doctor but she said my breathing sounded fine and she told me to just take 4 puffs of my inhaler when I take it instead of 2. For the past week or two when I cough hard green pieces fly out of my mouth. I'm not sure if it is phlegm because it's not sticky or mucusy. That's what I was coughing up but now it seems to be dry and hard and in little pieces instead of a big clump of phlegm. I went to the doctor when I first felt sick and she told me to just use my inhaler 4 puffs instead of 2. Any ideas what is going on. I think I must have bronchitis.
