Is a lexmark 1200 all in one compatible with vista home? works fine with xp?

both units (printer & notebook) are brand new..when loaded into my old desk top running xp all in one works fine , but when i load it into my notebook pc running on vista i keep getting error saying printer not connected check power,usb cables and restart, have done this loads of times but still doest work ??any suggestions would be appreciated thanx
